What impact Michael Flatley had on irish dance


Michael Flatley totally revolutionized Irish Dance. Before the River Dance Irish dance wasnt that popular, mostly know throughout Ireland and some countries in Europe. But once the River Dance followed by Lord Of The Dance, the Irish Dance form went through the whole world getting more fame and popularity. So now a days any where in the world will know or have heard of Irish Dance.

Michael left the River Dance due to creative control. Where he then created The Lord Of The Dance, it became super popular like The River Dance. But unlike The River Dance that toured in theaters, it toured in arenas and stadiums.

    • In his prime he was earning $1,600,000 per week and having the highest insurance policy placed on a danacer's legs at $40,000,000.
    • He is in the guinness world record book for taping 35 taps per second.
    • At age 17 Michael became the first American to bring the title of All-World Irish Dancing Champion to the US. 
    • He was the creator of The River Dance and The Lord Of The Dance.
